Amy Smart is a former American actress and model. Born in California USA, Amy Smart began her modeling career there. In 1996 she debuted as an actor in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. The actress struggled for a small role for her in Starship Troopers. The transition was difficult for Amy because she had to move from modelling into the acting profession. Models aren't regarded as the best actors so they tend to be given smaller roles that aren't very important. Amy was determined to keep trying. She climbed the ladder to bigger roles. She began in The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. In 2005, she took part in the leading role of The romantic comedic film Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy gained recognition after more than ten years struggling. Amy continued to make significant films, like Crank with Jason Statham or Shameless in which she became a cherished recurring character.
